Beatles Comics - Yellow Submarine from Gold Key 1968

Yellow Submarine Beatles comic book scan from Gold Key

Download the whole comic (28 Mb) in a high-quality PDF format!

Just click on the Yellow Submarine comic book cover

The Beatles’ Yellow Submarine was one of the first movies I ever saw in my life, so you can imagine how it tweaked my brain when I saw it on a 30-foot-high drive-in movie screen as a wee 3-year-ol lad in 1968. I had never seen the comic book version before until I ran across this PDF on the web. I don’t have any info on the creative team, but if any of you can shed more light on this comic, please leave a comment!

PS…if you don’t want to download a 28 megabyte PDF, you can read it online at Scribd: Yellow Submarine Comic

Guarding the U.S.-Mexico border, live from suburban New York

(CNN) -- When her baby girl takes an afternoon nap, or on those nights when she just can't sleep, Sarah Andrews, 32, tosses off her identity as a suburban stay-at-home mom and becomes something more exotic: a "virtual deputy" patrolling the U.S.-Mexico border.

From her house in a suburb of Rochester, New York, Andrews spends at least four hours a day watching a site called BlueServo.net.

There, because of a $2 million grant from the state of Texas, anyone in the world can watch grainy live video scenes of cactuses, desert mountains and the Rio Grande along Texas' portion of the international border.

When Andrews spots something she deems suspicious -- perhaps a fuzzy character moving from right to left across the screen or people wading through the river with what appear to be trash bags atop their heads -- she and the site's 43,000 registered users can send e-mail messages straight to local law enforcement, who then decide whether to act.

High Quality Bimbos

Some of my all-time favorite cartoons are now viewable online in better quality than I've seen before! Early Fleischer Studios "Bimbo" cartoons Dizzy Dishes, Barnacle Bill and of course Bimbo's Initiation are some of the freakiest fun you will ever see!
To see them full-sized, just click on the video as it's playing, and it'll jump you over to watch it directly on YouTube.
For best image quality, make sure to click on the little HQ button in the lower right hand side of the video.
When, O When will these come out on DVD?
I'd settle for a good bootleg, but I can't even find that!
...Anybody?

Talk about high-concept ideas…it’s all there! Based on my previous mistake about the Algy comic, this might be the work of Irv Spector (even though it looks a lot like Dan Gordon). Who do you think is the artist?

Make Moves: DEREK LUKE on NBC

Derek Luke comes to TV this fall in the NBC drama "Trauma," a new series revolving around the heroics of San Francisco paramedics, reports the Associated Press.

The show is designed as an "adrenaline-rush" successor to NBC's recently departed "ER," according to Ben Silverman, co-chair of NBC Entertainment and Universal.

Luke will play a stoic trauma doctor.  Other cast members include Aimee Garcia ("George Lopez") and Jamey Sheridan ("Law & Order: Criminal Intent").
