Hi-jacking phone booth ad space.

Confronted with the challenge of self-promotion on a tight budget, NY-based graffiti artist KATSU has taken an interesting approach. Like any self-respecting being wanting to raise brand awareness, advertising seemed like the perfect medium for conveying his message.
Over the last few months KATSU ran a series of fake poster ads on phone-booths all over Manhattan. Wanting ensure that the ads appealed to as wide an audience as possible, his ads appropriate the reputable brand logos of Nike and MoMA and feature images of celebrity and pop culture icons of the likes of Kurt Cobain, Jay-Z and even Joe Camel. It’d definitely have more cut through than your standard Hello My Name Is sticker campaign, don’t you think?
